On behalf of the Board of Directors and members of New York Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., I extend our warmest greetings and welcome you to our website.

New York Alumni is a Chapter with a rich, proud and triumphant history.  Our beginnings are rooted in struggle conveyed by forty-one charter members and a committed determination to overcome social, political, fraternal and environmental obstacles.  For over sixty-eight years, our Chapter has stood defiantly against these odds to create a Chapter legacy of astonishing achievement, success and vision.

From our beginning on February 20th, in 1937 the New York Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. has served the Greater Harlem Community and has been in the forefront of community service that includes:

  • Our GUIDE RIGHT PROGRAM historically has been successful in support of education and fighting poverty by mentoring Harlem Youth through a wide variety of classes, excursions and holiday celebrations.

  • Our AIDS AWARESS PROGRAM, has been instrumental in providing vital health information to Harlem residents regarding AIDS prevention.

  • Our PROSTATE CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAM provides critical health information to men of Harlem regarding prostate cancer prevention.

  • THE ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER OF HARLEM, a new initiative, is designed to fight poverty and support education by supporting new Harlem businesses as well as literary works and the fine arts.

  • KAPPA KARES is a new initiative to fight death from starvation, (from famine, war atrocities, and other causes), among children in Niger, The Sudan, Zimbabwe, and other African nations, as well as to combat hunger among children of African heritage right here in America.

  • THE INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM OF KAPPA ALPHA PSI, a collection of films, photos, documents and memorabilia, is another new initiative designed to fight poverty and support education by presenting to the community, (particularly to young African American men and boys), the brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. as historical role models for achievement in all areas of human endeavor.

We hope you find our website both informative and enlightening to the goals, objectives and aspirations of our chapter and fraternity. The purpose of this website is to give the general public an opportunity to learn more about the contributions our chapter has made and continues to create. It is our pleasure to welcome you to and we invite you to attend and support our various civic, social and fraternal activities.
